Ambientada en la Inglaterra de 1983, This is England cuenta la historia de Shaun (Thomas Turgosse), un chico de 12 años que ha perdido a su padre en la Guerra de las Malvinas. Solitario y conflictivo, en una ciudad impersonal en la que no encaja, pronto es adoptado por Woody (Joe Gilgun) y su pandilla, integrados en el movimiento skinhead. El joven Shaun encuentra en sus nuevos amigos aquello de que carecía: amistad, un lugar donde es alguien que cuenta, protección, e incluso una referencia paterna. Al poco, vuelve al grupo Combo (Stephen Grahan), líder de la pandilla que ha pasado tres años y medio en prisión. Combo en seguida predica entre los suyos las nuevas ideas que están arraigando fuertemente en los skinheads: ideas racistas y nacionalistas procedentes de grupos como el Frente Nacional. Los nuevos planteamientos ideológicos dividen al grupo en dos bandos cuyas relaciones se vuelven tensas: uno encabezado por Woody, y otro liderado por Combo, en el que se queda Shaun, quien cree que así está honrando la muerte de su padre.

Quadrophenia es una película británica de 1979 . En 2004 la revista Total Film catalogó la película como el trigesimoquinto (35) mejor film británico de todos los tiempos. Corre el año 1964 en Londres, y Jimmy pertenece a una banda de mods, que se mueven en sus scooters italianas Vespa o Lambretta. Sus disputas con los rockers , son continuas. Harto de sus padres y de un trabajo sin futuro , Jimmy solo encuentra una vía de escape a sus problemas junto a sus amigos de la banda: Dave, Chalky y Spider. Un puente de tres días proporciona la excusa para ambos bandos para librar una violenta batalla en la ciudad costera de Brighton. Pero cuando Jimmy es arrestado durante los disturbios de Brighton, su vida empieza una pendiente cuesta abajo. Es multado, expulsado de su casa por su madre tras encontrar ésta una bolsa de "azules" (anfetaminas). Se despide del trabajo, despilfarra su cuantiosa provisión de "azules", descubre que su amor, Steph, ya no está interesada en él y que ahora está con su mejor amigo, Dave, lo que conduce a una pelea, destroza su Lambretta en un accidente, y descubre que su ídolo, "As de Oros", en realidad no es más que el botones de un hotel. Roba la Vespa de éste y se lanza contra el precipicio, donde encontrará un destino incierto. La película es un reflejo de la Gran Bretaña proto-punki prethatcheriana, describiendo el narcisimo alimentado con anfetaminas de la juventud británica durante la década de 1960. Otro motivo predominante de la películas son las batallas campales entre mods y rockers que, en la vida real, se sucedieron en diversas localidades costeras a lo largo del verano de 1964.
